I am a Family Practitioner who has been practicing in Eastern Kentucky for the last 14 years. During that period of time I have had many requests from my patients for an aid to help them in losing excess weight. Over the years I have tried many different diet programs, diet pills and various supplements unsuccessfully. While working in the clinic I became acquainted with Ann Stratton, and the “Ann's Weigh” program.
Having been essentially ineffective in helping my patients lose weight and keep it off, I was very skeptical at the claims that were being made. However, my mother had been diagnosed by her physician as having adult onset diabetes, hypertension and elevated serum cholesterol. She was told by her physician that she should lose weight. Over the next few months I observed the “Ann's Weigh” program carefully. The patients that were in the program were indeed losing weight and showing definite decreases in serum lipid levels. I referred my own mother to the program with these thoughts in mind and am elated to tell you that within six months she lost 47 pounds, reduced her cholesterol level from 289 to 183 and reduced her fasting blood sugar level from 256 to 118, and my mother has maintained her weight. Her fasting blood sugar levels are still within normal limits.
With these results I became convinced. I have referred several of my patients since that time and have observed weight losses of over 100 pounds. I now endorse the “Ann's Weigh” program and feel that this can be the answer to many an overweight person’s prayers.

In today’s society, childhood obesity is at an all time high. As a pediatrician, it is my responsibility to provide education on diet and exercise. All too often when discussing daily dietary intake, I hear of diets consisting of large portion sizes that are predominately carbohydrates. These types of food can lead to insulin resistance, diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol when consumed in large quantities and not part of a balanced diet. These co-morbidities were once thought of as only adult diseases but now we see them in childhood due to the increase in childhood obesity over the past 50 years.
